Meet Our Founder

Jodi Jeffreys-Tanner

Hi, I'm Jodi Jeffreys-Tanner — a native Floridian who has called Fort Lauderdale home for most of my life, and I have never met a piece of local art (or a local artist!) I didn't want to champion. I'm the Founder and Curator of Las Olas Capital Arts, and if you ask anyone who knows me, they'll tell you I bring a whole lot of energy, heart, and enthusiasm to everything I do. I believe art has the power to transform a room, a career, and a community — and I've built my life's work around proving it.

That belief turned into action when I transformed the Las Olas Capital Advisors office right here in Fort Lauderdale into a full-fledged gallery for emerging artists — no rent, no cost to the artist, just opportunity. What started as one bold idea has grown, over ten incredible years, into Las Olas Capital Arts: a thriving 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a full Artist Collective, tri-annual solo exhibitions, and immersive community events like Cars Under Stars, Tunnel Vision, Art in the Park, and the Las Olas Art Festival. I'm proud to say I've never met a challenge in building this organization that hard work, hustle, and a little Florida sunshine couldn't solve.

My mission has always been bigger than any one show or soirée: it's about making sure artists and arts organizations in Broward County have the resources, the stage, and the support they need to create and thrive. That's why I have served as a Council Member of The Broward Cultural Council for over 15 years. My team and I just launched our newest program, Artful Youth, which brings free art education and professional working artists into local schools that don't otherwise have an art curriculum. Every paintbrush or art supply we put in a student's hand is proof that a community that invests in its artists invests in itself.

Outside of Las Olas Capital Arts, I am a wife to my husband Paul Tanner, and a mom to my son Jerrod and two wonderful stepsons, Stephen and Garrett — my biggest cheerleaders and the reason I work so hard to build something meaningful. Whether I'm hanging a new exhibition, mentoring an emerging artist, or dreaming up our next immersive event, I'm doing it because I believe our community deserves a front-row seat to the incredible talent right here in our backyard. I'd love for you to join us on this journey — come see what Las Olas Capital Arts is all about!
