Andy Warhol, Peter Max, and the TV Show “Laugh-In” are among the many icons of the 1960s and the Pop-Art movement that made formidable visual impressions upon me as a child. It is clear that these powerful images and personalities made a lasting imprint. Absorbing these powerful images at young age shaped who I would become in my life and my life long pursuit of creativity. My “Painting with Pixels” is a direct line back to this revolutionary and magical time in history and its unique visual imagery.
As I write in my bio, “my images are crafted to be BIG, BRIGHT and PAINTERLY” countless 60’s pop influences can be clearly seen in my work. I am truly product of my environment and my times. Creatives re-invent our selves many times in a life long creative journey. “Painting with Pixels” is my latest focus and creative “outlet”. As this journey continues to unfold and I discover more and more about myself and these early influences. This path will certainly go in unexpected directions. Contemporary architecture, the magnificent ocean and beaches that surround us here in South Florida, are frequent subjects for my images. The next trip, the next cup of coffee, the next blooming orchid can easily become my next obsession.
Creativity is always the focus regardless of; the subject matter, visual inspiration, process or medium. Painting with Pixels, is reaching new audiences with showings at: Bitton Art, Dania Pointe, Plunge Resort Ft. Lauderdale, Thrive Art District, Ft. Lauderdale, Northwood Arts and Music Warehouse, West Palm Beach, and Easton Art Galleries, Delray Beach.
