Frank Polanco, a native of Puerto Rico, is a photographer, multimedia artist, community activist, philanthropist, and has a great passion for animal welfare. Much of his digital art showcases a sense of peace, tranquility, and care for other living things while at the same time reminds us that we have the resources here in our backyard to decompress from every day life. His vibrant colors are used to represent this happy place we are blessed to call home. Frank’s mixed media creations, paintings, drawings, and art installations represent some of his own personal emotions and feelings.
As an artist deeply rooted in the vibrant cultures of Puerto Rico and influenced by the dynamic pulse of New York City and South Florida, my work reflects a journey of self-discovery and resilience. From the moment I stepped into the bustling streets of New York at 17, I embraced the challenges and opportunities that life presented, allowing my experiences to shape my artistic vision. Throughout my artistic career, I have sought to create spaces for dialogue and connection, sharing my work in significant exhibitions both locally and globally.
Artist Statement
As a multidisciplinary artist, I approach photography with a unique twist that transforms ordinary moments into extraordinary narratives. My work captures real-life situations, inviting viewers into a vivid tapestry of experiences that I alone have witnessed. Each image serves as a portal to moments that have slipped away, allowing the audience to engage with a reality they can never fully inhabit.
